Spotlight: 3yo who flopped on handicap debut but won well when the blinkers were enlisted over C&D (good) in his two races since, leading over 2f out on first occasion and making virtually all on second; up another 9lb but has been on a steep upward curve recently and goes well at Sandown.

Spotlight: 4yo who won twice last year and got back on track to score over C&D (good; acts on soft) this June in first-time cheekpieces, which have been kept since; did not get run of the race in a top York handicap seven weeks ago and not discredited; needs a second look.

Spotlight: Scored twice in Qatar for these connections; question mark about ground softer than good, despite the official going at Goodwood last time when he was second in a strong conditions stakes; in good form in Britain on last three outings now but that does not mean he looks well handicapped.

Spotlight: Big career best to win at Chester (1m2f, good; in good style from the front) last month, a course which rather dominates his turf record but he also scored at Doncaster in September among four wins in 2024; weakened and quickly eased right down in big Goodwood handicap on latest outing; off 8lb higher than at Chester, he probably needs another career best.

Spotlight: Won two in a row at Goodwood (1m1f/1m, heavy) last autumn and runner-up at Epsom (8.5f, good to soft) this June; player if ground softer than good prevails, which it didn't back at Goodwood four weeks ago.

Spotlight: C&D winner in 2023 but an infrequent winner overall and below form in 2025, although latest start was a step back in the right direction.

Spotlight: Got up close home in this race on final start last term (good) and he surged back to form with another C&D win by a neck eight weeks ago (good to firm); a bit below form on his only start on softer than good (good to soft here last July); just 1lb higher than last time and, if the ground is okay, another strong finish from off the pace can't be ruled out.

Spotlight: Usually held up; best known for his three 1m2f wins at Newbury, the last two of which came in the mud and the latest last September off 4lb lower than today; fourth at Yarmouth in July on latest start suggested that he probably retains his ability; not dismissed, with any recent rain probably helping.

Spotlight: Won at Glorious Goodwood (1m2f, good) last July but has not repeated the form and, having left Johnny Murtagh, he was well beaten in the same race on debut for new yard last month; 3lb lower today than that last winning mark.
